Supports Officine Buone: Music That Transforms Care Through Special Stage
Music is a universal language, capable of creating connections, evoking emotions, and improving people’s well-being. It is from this belief that Special Stage was born - a project by Officine Buone supported by the Fondazione Donald De Sanctis - which brings live music into hospitals and healthcare centers, transforming these spaces into places of connection, participation, and hope.
What Is Special Stage
Special Stage is the first music festival dedicated to emerging young artists that showcases talent as part of a social project.
The format resembles that of a talent show, but with a unique twist: the performances are judged by patients, who become central to the experience alongside guests from the worlds of music and entertainment.
Music thus becomes a tool for building connections, offering moments of lightheartedness and shared experience to those undergoing treatment.
A project that combines music, solidarity, and inclusion
Special Stage was created with three main objectives:
- To humanize care. Music helps make the hospital stay more peaceful, offering patients moments of leisure, socialization, and well-being that complement their therapeutic journey.
- Introducing young people to volunteer work. The project involves young people between the ages of 15 and 30, offering them the opportunity to gain volunteer experience through the language of music.
- Promoting emerging young artists. Each performance represents a concrete opportunity to showcase new talent, putting their music at the service of an initiative with high social value.
Results Achieved in 2026
Between January and July 2026, Special Stage has already engaged numerous healthcare facilities, confirming the project’s value.
The numbers speak to its impact:
- 68 events held;
- over 100 volunteers involved;
- more than 1,500 patients and caregivers reached;
- 25 participating hospitals and treatment centers.
Among the facilities involved are the ASST Gaetano Pini in Milan, the Nuovo Ospedale Apuane in Carrara, the Primaticcio 8 Day Center in Milan, and the Legnano Hospital of the ASST Ovest Milanese.
Support from the Fondazione Donald De Sanctis
Supporting Special Stage means believing in a healthcare system that is increasingly focused on the individual, where care is provided not only through clinical interventions but also through experiences that improve quality of life.
The Fondazione Donald De Sanctis promotes initiatives that create value for the community and supports projects that combine social innovation, inclusion, and a focus on people’s well-being.
Special Stage is a concrete example of how collaboration between the nonprofit sector, volunteers, and healthcare institutions can transform music into a tool for healing, connection, and hope.
