A state-of-the-art ultrasound machine for neonatal research
An investment of 99,000 euros has made it possible to provide the ASST Papa Giovanni XXIII in Bergamo with an advanced ultrasound machine for an innovative multidisciplinary project.
The donation was made possible through a collaboration between Nepios, the Associazione per l’Aiuto al Neonato ODV, and L’Orizzonte di Lorenzo ODV.
The new device will be used to further study cerebral vascularization in newborns with congenital heart disease.
The goal is to gather increasingly precise information on cerebral circulation in these young patients and on the relationship between cardiac function and neurological development in the early stages of life.
Research, diagnosis, and treatment: an investment in the future
Congenital heart defects require highly specialized care pathways and a constant focus on innovation.
The use of advanced ultrasound techniques allows for noninvasive examinations to be performed directly at the patient’s bedside, offering new possibilities for monitoring the most fragile newborns.
